Barco is pleased to announce a new intelligent visualization platform, the RLM G5 Series, for the presentation and conference market. With this compact, 3-chip DLP projector series, Barco has combined state-of-the-art Image Quality, powerful Presentation Impact and Increased Meeting Efficiency in an advanced projector design, with integrated IT and AV functionality.
Increased Meeting Efficiency and Return On Investment
With an integrated powerful computer server, the RLM G5 Pro increases meeting efficiency and results in a positive Return On Investment. Dirk Hendrickx, Business Unit Manager at Barco Presentation, stated, “The RLM G5 Pro allows meeting participants to retrieve content straight from the LAN or from the Hard Disk of the projector. It is no longer necessary to carry around a laptop, as not only data but also video content can be streamed over LAN straight to the projector. As all content can be retrieved over LAN, the user no longer needs dedicated PC’s, DVD’s or AV cabling in meeting rooms, resulting in a cost saving on peripherals and cabling.”
In addition, the advanced network functionality allows instant, truly collaborative meetings between remote offices with real-time interaction and file sharing. Control over a projector can be passed instantly over LAN to any meeting location, which means that changes made to a spread sheet in an office in Europe, can be viewed real-time in the office in US, and vice versa. Effective and instant collaborative meetings accelerate the decision making process and save valuable travel time, resulting in a positive Return On Investment.
Also, as a fleet of projectors can be fully controlled over LAN from the central IT HelpDesk, there is no need for support staff to run to meeting rooms to adjust projector settings. These adjustments can be done instantly (over the network) right from their desk, allowing uninterrupted meetings, so meeting attendants do not waste valuable meeting time. Central Control and Management allow companies to save money on support services.
State-of-the-art Image Quality
Barco’s powerful pixel map processing and Texas Instruments’ (TI) three-chip Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology (featuring TI’s new Mercury, ultra-high contrast black chips) guarantee High Image Quality. The audience will enjoy vibrant images with true-to-life colors.
Feature-rich, the RLM G5 Projector Series enables powerful and convincing presentations. The platform includes advanced picture-in-picture functionality, which enables users to show up to three sources simultaneously. Integrated seamless source switching capabilities eliminate waiting intervals or warning messages when switching sources. With brightness levels up to 4,500 ANSI lumen, a high Contrast Ratio of > 900:1, native XGA resolution and an intelligent dual-lamp design for added reliability, this range is ideally suited for presentation, conference and training applications in medium sized to large presentation area. The RLM Series is also recommended for applications where multiple projectors display panoramic images over multiple screens. The RLM Series projectors are equipped with “ScenergiX”, a unique edge-blending software designed by Barco, that combines the processing of multiple projectors into one large image without visible overlaps. Color-uniformity over the multiple screens is guaranteed thanks to the powerful 3-chip DLPÔ technology.
The RLM G5 Pro (networked version) and RLM G5 Executive (standard version), will be available early fourth quarter 2003. Barco will show a static RLM G5 at InfoComm 2003 in booth number 2614.
