The Notevision A20X offers “plug-and-play” simplicity for first-time users, as well as budget-friendly features for education, government and corporate customers
ORLANDO, FL, June 5, 2003 – Sharp Electronics Corporation today added a bright, versatile LCD projector to its “Value Series” line by introducing the Notevision PG-A20X LCD projector. The PG-A20X offers 2000 ANSI Lumens of brightness and native XGA resolution in a slim 6.4 lb. silver frame. Sharp’s Value Series projectors emphasize ease of use, versatility and low cost of ownership.
The PG-A20X’s combination of brightness and simplicity make it ideal for first-time buyers, classrooms and government settings, as well as for sales/marketing professionals, small business owners and corporate trainers.

Ease of Use
The PG-A20X’s ease of use is made possible in part through a feature that automatically detects and sets a presenter’s RGB or component source after the projector is turned on. The PG-A20X also boasts an automatic keystone correction feature that instantly corrects distortion. This true “plug-and-play” ability gives users the power to deliver vibrant presentations in any environment, without the hassle of complex connectivity and management issues. The PG-A20X is also equipped with Sharp’s PresenterPAK feature set, including a friendly graphical user interface (GUI) menu screen that is icon-based and uses common terminology rather than technical jargon. Computer and video inputs are color-coded to simplify setup for users when connecting cables to a PC, Mac or Workstation, Sharp stated.
Low Cost of Ownership
The PG-A20X is built to benefit the budget-minded customer. The unit’s Low Power Mode lets users extend lamp life from 3000 hours to 4500 hours, while lowering fan noise from 35dB to a quiet 31dB. The Low Power Mode helps users save money on new lamp purchases, which is the highest after-purchase ownership cost associated with the life of a projector. The PG-A20X also offers multiple theft-deterrent capabilities, including keypad startup code, keypad lockout, and an optional locking cable security system, the company said.
The compact PG-A20X measures 9.0-inches (D) by 11.7 inches (W) by 3.2-inches (H), and is bright enough for installation, yet durable and light enough for portable use. The PG-A20X is HDTV compatible and offers multiple inputs, including RGB, composite RCA, S-Video and RS-232C. The model is also “networkable” through its RS-232 input. The PG-A20X is equipped with sRGB color management, gamma adjust and multiple color temperature adjustments to sharpen its color output, contrast and gradation.
The Notevision PG-A20X will be available in August at a list price of $2,995 through Sharp’s authorized distribution channels. The projector is backed by a three-year parts and labor limited warranty, including two years of Sharp’s “ER” Service, a 24-hour turnaround express repair program.
